bad blogger! [picture-heavy]

July has been just a really really hectic month for me. Between working OT, and being on vacation, and now back from vacation, working 7 10-hour days straight (this is day 2 of 7, for anyone playing along at home)... it's just... stressful and hectic.

Today's been especially lovely, starting with my coating the inside of my car with Jamba Juice, and my mouse works intermittantly with my mac because I dropped it into the bowl with milk that was left on the floor last night (and I let it dry out, but it occasionally just STOPS WORKING). I'm caught up more or less with work after my vacation, but there's more to do than I really feel like doing. And I really just want to go to knit group tomorrow, but I can't. I don't have much 'extra' time right now, not for knitting, not for dyeing, not for turning spindles, either.

So, In lieu of the pictures I should've taken of my super-duper secret pal's awesome monkey-themed gifts (which I'll get pictures of soon, I swear)... I'll give you some images of this month that I've taken (mostly on vacation, the 4 'bookends' in colorado).

So, what have I been doing since Estes?

Well, you can check in on my etsy shop, and tell that I've been dying silk caps, and turning more drop spindles. That's part of it. You could check my deviantart account and see that I've been hiking and taking pictures. That's part of it, too. If I sent you to my secret pal's blog, which I figure I'll do in a couple of weeks... you'd see that I've been spoiling my secret pal!

It's been a busy couple of weeks, both at work and at home. :)

I put in another order to Henry's Attic for more yarn, and it will be on its way next week. Unfortunately, I won't have a full-fledged "dye day" for a while, as this 'weekend' is the last normal weekend I have for a while. Next week, I'm working Thursday/Friday, the week after that, we're going to be on vacation, the week after that, I'll be working Thurs-Fri-Sat, and then... finally... I get my normal thursday-saturday weekends back.

July's going to be a roller-coaster. Hang on to your hats!

Estes was a Blast!

It was awesome, and my feet hurt at the end of the day. I ended up with plenty of fiber, but not a foot of yarn. I ended up with more llama-silk, a lovely blue alpaca-merino-silk roving, two bags of 'blended' alpaca (from 3 different animals), a large bag of neck and leg alpaca fiber, and half of a shetland fleece.

I met up with most of my knit group (chaperoning only 2, bringing my sister-in-law with me, too) at different times. I had kebabs for lunch at the kebab/kibee tent, and it was a lovely lunch at that. It was a great time, and I got to shop, too! :)
